Josh Pertnoy began his career at Shapiro/Pertnoy Companies in inarguably one of the most unglamorous roles. Josh began by sweeping floors and working as a laborer during summer breaks. After returning from boarding school at the Dublin School in New Hampshire and attending college, Josh joined Shapiro/Pertnoy Companies full-time eight years ago.
His approach to learning the multi-dimensional world of high-end residential and commercial construction and development was both admirable and utilitarian. In order to learn core trades such as drywall, framing, roofing, and carpentry, Josh worked under a host of different subcontractors, learning the fundamentals of each discipline. He also credits his expedited learning curve to a valued company employee who took him under his wing and “taught him the ropes.”
Josh, a Florida licensed general contractor, oversees a full-time staff of nearly 15 construction personnel and multiple, simultaneous construction products. To date, his largest project is a 30,000 square foot ocean-front stunner. Six years in planning and four years in the construction process, this signature project sets the bar for quality, ultra- luxurious, commissioned residential real estate. In addition to his membership in the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, Josh also supports his favorite charities: the Dublin School, Temple Israel and the Jewish Community Center of the Palm Beaches with both time and money. A guitarist by passion, Josh Pertnoy enjoys music, fishing, travel and work. “I had a very fast learning curve in this business. The fact that I love what I do has a lot to do with that.”
For almost thirty years, the Shapiro/Pertnoy Companies have been the choice of discriminating home buyers throughout South Florida. Designing and building at the apex of estate properties and premium commercial developments, their innovative, collaborative approach and unequaled quality are reflected in every project they undertake. From a spectacular 30,000 square foot residential compound in Jupiter’s Admirals Cove to the equestrian communities of Wellington, and from luxury lifestyles in the mountains of North Carolina to a new professional office complex in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Shapiro/Pertnoy Companies remain in the forefront of development in the upscale residential and commercial markets.
